What is it?
Achilles Tendonitis occurs when the Achilles tendon becomes inflamed. The Achilles tendon is a thick band of fibrous tissue that connects the heel to the calf muscle.
What causes it?
Injuries to the Achilles tendon may be caused by:
- Overuse
- Misalignment
- Muscle tightness
- Improper footwear
- Poor mechanics
What does treatment involve? (may include 1 or all of the following)
- Rest
- Cold therapy
- Physiotherapy / Massage Therapy / Chiropractic
- Orthotics
